Chris Welsch�s award-winning photos and stories have taken readers from the steppes of Mongolia to the Badlands of North Dakota, and from Buddhist monasteries in Laos to Benedictine monasteries on the Minnesota prairies. His writing and photography have won seven gold medals in the annual Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Competition. His work has been published in more than 50 daily papers and magazines, including The New York Times and National Geographic Adventure. He is a freelance photographer and editor based in Paris.
